The SLF Method, explained.

Most of you reading this probably know who I am, but for anyone who is new here... hi! I’m Jordyn. I am a 25 year old fitness professional and the creator and owner of The SLF Method. If you have been following me, you have seen me post about SLF, but you might still be a little confused as to what this brand is, why it was created, or what services are offered. If that's you, and you want the answers to those questions, keep reading!

SLF, pronounced “self,” stands for Support in Lifestyle and Fitness.


The SLF Method is a fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness brand. Our mission is to help people reach their immediate and unique fitness and nutrition goals, while also educating on how to establish healthy habits that will yield long-term results. When I was trying to decide what to name my coaching business, one thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to build a community. My goal was/is to have a platform that allowed me to interact with my clients, and potential clients, in a way that would make them feel like they are not alone and are a part of something special. This business and brand was built to thrive on connection, communication, education, integrity, and positivity. As I was brainstorming names, there was one word that kept jumping into the front of my mind that I knew I really wanted to incorporate - support. Each and every one of us needs a helping hand, at some point, in our lives. When starting a fitness journey or making a big lifestyle change, support is something that most people lack, but really need. Even though you, as an individual, are ultimately fully responsible for your actions that will create change, I wanted to establish a support system to help get you on the right track.


After support, we have lifestyle and fitness. Fitness was included because that is the majority of what we offer. Through The SLF Method, we currently offer nutrition coaching, personal training, and workout guides. But I also wanted to incorporate the word lifestyle. One, because we offer nutrition coaching along with fitness training, and two, because I wanted to acknowledge that there is so much more to you as a person and so much more going on in your life outside of the 30-60 minutes you spend taking a class or working out in the gym. I wanted to show, through my brand and by example, that working out is a piece of your life and will benefit you immensely, but to lead a healthier life... fitness doesn’t need to consume your entire identity.


The SLF Method was created for you, the client. I am a trainer and nutritionist with 7 years of experience, a bachelor's degree in exercise science and a few certifications. While I am still a work in progress myself, I want to use all of the knowledge and experience I have built up, thus far, to help you on your journey. My objective is to help you get from Point A to Point B, but also help you understand that getting to Point B isn’t going to be a straight, easy path and that's ok. There will be a lot of zigs and zags, but The SLF Method will be there to support you through it all. We want to help you reach your short term goals that you bring to us, but also set you up for future, long-term success by educating you on the how's and why's behind exercise and nutrition, instead of only dictating a plan for you to follow.


That being said, The SLF Method currently offers two coaching packages: The SLF Program and The SLF Overhaul. Both packages are six weeks in duration and include completely personalized workout plans and weekly check-ins. The Overhaul offers help with nutrition, while The Program focuses specifically on fitness.
